2014 — it’s been and gone! It was a big year for Shopify Ninjas. Here’s what went down, and how it can help you explode your Shopify sales in 2015.
We continued our in-depth tutorials, with highlights being a detailed guide on Shopify’s New Responsive Checkout, including some details that even Shopify didn’t release; and a comprehensive list of learnings from over 150 Shopify Store projects in a free, downloadable report that you can learn from.
We helped several businesses increase their revenue by 35% to 1000% (that is not a typo!) within 6 months of moving their stores to Shopify. Some of our favorite success stories include Minaal, Cultiver, Status Anxiety and Auswrap. There are too many favorites lists!
I (Tristan) also braced my nerves, recording my first ever “about” video in Bangkok. You can see how I did on our About page.
Unique Tools For Shopify: Lastly, we made some unique tools that have been helping serious Shopify store owners explode their sales, including:
- The world’s first-ever IP Redirect For Shopify – for when you have a shop in two countries and want to make sure your customers get to the right one;
- A plugin to show flags with your Shopify currency converter to show local customers you care about them;
- The ShortCodes App, which helps you create super-advanced features on your store like accordions, tabs and hover tooltips.. without having to code;
- The easiest Image Gallery For Shopify in existence, allowing you to create a custom gallery that looks brilliant in all browsers.
Shopfy itself also saw some huge growth, booming to over 200,000 stores, introducing a bunch of new features, and launching a competition that you can enter to meet Richard Branson on Necker Island. Why not?

We moved to Shopify in June 2014, and overall I love the platform and the results given my very limited knowledge of web design. I wonder if we might benefit from some SEO expertise? It’s hard to know when it’s the right time to invest in that aspect of our business…Any advice would be appreciated!
